Reality Mapping's StreetMapper system has been trialled by Cambridgeshire Police to help reduce congestion on the A14 after accidents.

StreetMapper - Accident Investigation

The carriageways of the A14 between Trinity Foot and Bar Hill were scanned by StreetMapper on the 23rd March '06 in order to produce a 3D map that can be used by collision investigators after an accident. The digital 3D map will lead to investigators no longer having to survey the road and surrounding environment and enable them to concentrate their efforts on surveying vehicle debris and tyre marks. This will allow Cambridgeshire Police to reduce the time in which the A14 is closed.
